Strange scene

I realize that this shot is badly exposed but other than that, I think it's kind of fun :wink.

The backstory is in another thread, if you're interested.

Thanks for looking. C&C always welcome.

What fun! That is definitely a crazy scene! Talk about juxtapositions.

The exposure doesn't look bad to me. My eye goes directly to the two women (I think because of the shape of the mass of orange balloons leads the eye from left to right), then to the men, then to the magnificent building in the background, and finally to puzzling about what the orange balloons are doing there. (It actually looks like orange balloons in orange jello!)

You would lose some of the story, but cropping to include just the two men and the two woman would make a good street photo.

Anyhow, I enjoyed seeing all of the photos and learning what was going on. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Virginia about cropping…

As found, it's a super shot but if you really wanted to psych the viewer, then wouldn't it be fun to reverse the carriages and have the baby in the trolley and the gas cylinder in the perambulator? (All the other subjects positioned as in the original)

    …shades of Dali???

    :D

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I guess technically it's not blown, but as you can see I was shooting into the sun, and that often gives me problems. Maybe it's the yellow vest that makes me want to squint, dunno. Anyway, even though something's off here, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I don't see anything blown and that's a lovely pile of Salmon caviar in the background.

In another shot, it looks like a big bag of oranges:

    So, c'mon Richard…

    …how many?

Did they have a contest to guess the number?

I don't really know. My guess would be several thousand, but balloon counting has never been in my job description. mwink.gif

Wow!! Great composition. And, yes, they do sort of look like oranges.
