2008- The Year In Review

It's that time of year again!!!

Last year we had 2007- Year In Review(link) where some of us "people" people posted up slide shows of some of our favorite photographs from 2007. You can post them up anyway you like by linking in this thread to your gallery, slideshow, blog etc. So get 'em together, but remember that this is about posting YOUR favorites of YOUR year....not neccessarily the favorites of the forum. For newcomers, this is not only a fun way to examine your own work of 2008, but also a good link to save as a favorite and use the examples for reference next year.

As for me, I am having a little day surgery tommorrow, and hope that as I recover I can visit this thread to get a peek at some of the best of the best as seen through your lens. To kick it off, I have put up a slideshow on my blog. I am having issues getting the resolution right for a larger screensize, but will work on resolving that in the coming days.

Edit: To say that resolution issues with the slideshow on my blog are resolved. Link Below.

Here is my 2008- The Year in Review (link).

Here are "Elaine"s Favorites of 2008 (link).

Agnieszka's Wedding Favorites-2008 (link). (be sure to see her slideshow!)

    Hey...pretty cool!

"Through the Lens" was the name of a gallery on my old pbase website. It was where I kept my more artful attempts. Once I decided to get a smugmug account and shoot mostly portraits and events some of my close friends said they missed the other types of photos. So, when Lynne (urbanaries) talked me into keeping a blog this time last year I decided to use that name for it. The blog gives me a place to post the more artsy types of shots I take without adding confusion to what my clients see on jkmann.com .

I have enjoyed keeping the blog. I use it as a way to communicate what I have been up to and share photos. Its an awesome outlet and I have surprisingly enough had over 6000 visitors this year...and the other information I get from the counter shows a map with pins in it from visitors all over the globe. Thats kinda neat!

Heres an old shot from the gallery "Through the Lens"

Well, I'm coming late to this game, but I'll play along, perhaps against my better judgment! Here's a link to some of my favorite people shots from 2008. These are mostly personal shots, so the professional quality may not be there, but it is what it is.

Elaine these are gorgeous shots every one of them. I enjoyed looking back through some of the familiar ones, and also some surprises. You are truely talented, and have an unmistakable style.

    Thanks for sharing!

...and I REALLY love that one shot of your son where he is all but lost amongst the towering trees. It's a beautiful capture that parallels for me our journey through life and the situations we so often find ourselves in. Just stunning...and I for one would appreciate seeing it posted....in a response...right here in this thread...or as a seperate post if you wish.

    ...but please....do it!

All of you have loads of stuff at least as inspiring as anything in the Challenge winner's galleries. Wonderful!

I had some trouble getting Jeff's video to play, but it did in the end. And I'm glad :D

Here's my Best of 2008. Hope you guys like it, even if it isn't all people shots :D
