SM Footer Disable
Hi guys;

I did not know that we were not supposed to remove the footer. All I did to remove it was choose the radio button in Advanced Customization. Since they provide the option to turn it off, it is inherently ok to do so.

If they want it on, I'm certain they will remove that option.

Back in the day all SmugMug accounts had to show some SmugMug-information; e.g., "powered by SmugMug". A lot of pros did not like that feature - they wanted to have only their "brand" on their site. SmugMug heros responded and changed that so pros can turn-off SmugMug co-branding on their site, but everyone is is still required to have the footer.

I may be wrong, but I just tested this, and you can use the Easy Customizer to turn off the Smugmug Footer if you want to. Perhaps that isn't really an option?

Just my opinion, but I like the mini-footer. They figure out the Smugmug connection anyway when they put something in the shopping cart.

Solution: Contact In Navbar & Footer On
For some time I have been wrestling with getting this new Contact Page feature (with a graphic header) in my navbar AND keep the mini-footer turned on. Why, you ask? This new Conact Page is a GREAT feature (thanks SM), and a mini-footer is nice... it's convenient to have a login link, I don't mind promoting SM's great product and mostly, having the automated "Feed" links in the appropriate place without having to do them all manually myself. Until now no one had figured out how to keep this all going. Last night I finally did it, so here you go...

Thank You!

I got 2 emails this week and I wondered how they emailed me because it printed the gallery url at the bottom of the email.

Now I know!

I've already gotten sales from this feature.

Thanks again! I love this place.:D

This is great! I've got it working in my custom footers & guestbook. However, when I selected a photo as a bio photo (via "This is Me!"), I get a border around the photo in my contact form. I can't figure out how to make it go away! Thanks for any help!

I got this to work in my header, but I have a question... there are places on my page I want to put the "Contact Me" link. These won't work because of the existence of the code in my header? (Much like the Header/Footer issues?)

Basically my question boils down to you can call this link only once on a page?

Problems with Contact Form
Hey Guys,
I am using the inhouse contact form and I got it to work but it isn't showing what it should! For instance the line that says: "To:________" is not showing my name. I have my name displayed as Josiah LaCelle and it doesn't show up. Any suggestions?

I emailed smugmug support and was told to post back here.

My site is (click on contact and the form should pop up):
http://josiahlacellephoto.smugmug.com

First, when including a link to your site, please include the "http://" portion as well.

Looking at your account setting, what is your Nickname?
20100120-mjwjkh1eptcd9gx956jnhcsbyg.jpg

Is it Josiah or something else? My guess is that your Nickname is josiahlacellephoto an not Josiah.

In your javascript for the form you have: ownerNickName: 'Josiah'

Does it work when you have: ownerNickName: 'josiahlacellephoto'

Adjusted that and it still shows nothing. Just to confirm, I have this in my custom header box:
<li><a href="#" onclick="return false;" id="contactUsButtonFooter">Contact</a>
******** type="text/javascript">
YE.onDOMReady(function() {SM.buttons.contactUsButton = new SM.buttons.contactUs('contactUsButtonWrapper','contactUsButtonFooter',{buttonText:'Contact',panelTitle: '',
currentPage: '/', currentPageOverride: '', referringPage: 'http://www.smugmug.com/logout.mg?skipDomainCheck=1&goTo=http://josiahlacellephoto.smugmug.com', pro: '', modal: true, popupName: 'contactOwner', ownerName: 'Josiah', width: '755px', albumID: '', additionalParams: 'FooterContact'});});
</********</li>
</ul>

That correct?

Contact the Pro
I have a CONTACT button at the top of my home page - www.BELphotos.com. The underlying code is --- mailto:SmugMug[Anti-Spam]BELphotos.com?Subject=Replace [Anti-Spam] with the @ sign in address --- This was used to prevent robots from picking up the address.

SmugMug has now allowed a CONTACT button in the footer to "email the pro" without the above mentioned action. How can I get the code so I can use this feature in my own CONTACT button at the top of my page? It would certainly make it more professional.

I have mine working in the menu bar, but I seem to have both photos showing - the one I uploaded, plus the old dude with the camera??

http://www.napaul.com/

:cry

TIA

edit: ok - now have added to bio, but I don't really want a photo in my bio, as it isn't used as a bio as such...

ALSO, the image is showing up as a square...

It's meant to look like this:

http://www.napaul.com/photos/788886975_Z9DCj-O.png

I think I read somewhere about showing as thumbnails? But can't find it now.

Mandy, go to the bio photo and use tools>this photo>crop thumbnail and recrop the thumb to the original ratio.

I think this is worse now - it's just showing a tiny thumb... headscratch.gif

PS - it really HAS to be the bio photo, right?

When I log off and press the footer "Concact" link, the body of the boxes obscures my bio photo. How do I get the boxes that my clients fill in to go back to the right?

I think this is a similar issue to what I asked in this thread about trying to select a single video or photo on my home page:
http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=158249

In that case the selections seem to also be obscured by the body of the message.

Is there something that I need to add to my css or java, or something that I have mistakenly added?

Find and try adding this in your css menu rules:
/* style the table so that it takes no part in the layout - required for IE to work */

.menu table {
position:absolute;
top:auto 0; left:0;
}

Thanks Joe.. I couldn't find anything in my css that was just like that, so I just added it to my css, and it didn't work. Not sure how to put my script into a frame like you guys do, but here is my entire css:

Go to the very bottom of your CSS box, and start scrolling up to these rules:

/* style the table so that it takes no part in the layout - required for IE to work */

table {
position:absolute;
top:auto 0; left:0;
}

#webdeveloper-element-information table {
position:relative;
}

/* yet another hack for IE5.5 */

* html .menu ul ul a{
width:125px;        /* unknown */
w\idth:104px;       /* DD FF width */
}

/*END EXTRA ADDS FOR IE*/

/* ADD TO HIDE EXTRA LEVELS */
/* make the second level visible when hover on first level list OR link */

.menu ul :hover ul{
visibility:visible;
}
/* keep the third level hidden when you hover on first level list OR link */

.menu ul :hover ul ul{
visibility:hidden;
}

/* keep the fourth level hidden when you hover on second level list OR link */

.menu ul :hover ul :hover ul ul{
visibility:hidden;
}

/* make the third level visible when you hover over second level list OR link */

.menu ul :hover ul :hover ul{
visibility:visible;
}

/* make the fourth level visible when you hover over third level list OR link */

.menu ul :hover ul :hover ul :hover ul {
visibility:visible;
}

/* END NAVBAR CSS CODE */

/* ==================================================== */
/* == FAQ #18, Line up boxes with titles underneath === */
/* ============== Current as of 13 Feb 07 ============= */
/* ==================================================== */

.miniBox {width:122px; text-align:center; height:210px; margin:0 28px;}
.miniBox .photo {float:none; width:122px; height:auto; _height:1px;}
.miniBox .albumTitle {width:122px;}
.miniBox .description {width:122px;}
.miniBox .updated {width:122px;}

.loggedIn .miniBox {height:auto; min-height:220px;}
.loggedIn .miniBox .smbuttons {margin:0 auto; width:122px;}
.loggedIn .miniBox input {width:122px;}
.loggedIn .miniBox textarea {width:112px;}

.boxBottom .albumLarge {width:192px; height:350px; text-align:center; margin:0 24px;}
.albumLarge .photoLarge {float:none; width:192px; height:auto; _height:1px;}
.albumLarge .albumTitle {width:192px;}
.albumLarge .description {width:192px;}
.albumLarge .updated {width:192px;}

.loggedIn .boxBottom .albumLarge {height:auto; min-height:450px;}
.loggedIn .albumLarge .smbuttons {margin:0 auto; width:192px;}
.loggedIn .albumLarge input {width:192px;}
.loggedIn .albumLarge textarea {width:182px;
}

/*============Search Box Code================*/
#mysearch {
width: auto;
float : left;
margin-right : 40px;
}

.gallery_11219427 .nophotos h3 {display: none;
}
/*============Gallery Password Request Form Code================*/

You'll want to change the bold underlined ones to this:

/* style the table so that it takes no part in the layout - required for IE to work */

.menu table {
position:absolute;
top:auto 0; left:0;
}

Voila! There must have been some moment in time when I deleted the ".menu" from that spot in the css. This solved the issue with the photo/video box as well, from the other thread.

Thanks!

Any fix for the double cancel button on the contact me form yet? If I missed it, my apologies...

Evening Andy:

I *hope* this works :P

It seems that the first time you go to the contact form, all is good until you go back. (sorry, maybe i didnt mention that part?)

Also, I lost/loose the 'to' part (who your sending it to, ME!).

Yeah - you got the cancel^2.

But you do have a To: line that looks fine.
The only way I could get rid of the cancel^2 (when using the contact as part of the navbar) was to start over.
