Definitely a case of "right time, right place" for me with this one! Arrived after a 4 hour drive from Madrid, just in time to capture this:

I like the symmetry of the shot. strong line above the mountain taking the viewer across the image, and the soft reflection.

I did a presentation on composition last week to our photo club.

My researched showed that out of about 25 how to websites about photo composition that "the rule of thirds" guideline was second most popular. I also said many times 'break the rules".

Glad to see the above is not the typical rule of thirds composition. It works well for me.

There is a beautiful symmetry to the whole image.

Beautiful colors and reflections -- well done! And I am one of the first to break all the rules!! "Quo warranto?" is one of my favorite guidelines.

Thanks very much for the replies and the feedback, really appreciate it :D

I didn't set out to "break any rules", but then again I never really consciously try and adhere to any of them either. I usually just go out with a bit of a renegade attitude, and stick with what I think looks nice ..... and then pray that others like it too! Sometimes it works rolleyes1.gif

    Thanks again!
