Flash Player 10 is supposed to see a substantial performance boost, especially for Mac. Since performance on the Mac was the main reason as to why Smugmug's new H.264 player still plays through Quicktime on the Mac, will you guys be converting over to all-Flash when version 10 comes outta beta??

It's up to the Sorcerers (Shizam et. al.) but I sure hope so!

Yes, the videos play through the Flash Player in Windows but in Quicktime in OS X. It had to do with the Flash Player for Mac using much more resources than the Windows version. But I think they have pretty much fixed a lot of that in the new Mac version (version 10).

Ars Technica ran some benchmarks comparing version 9 & 10 for Mac & found that version 10 had around 3-4 times better performance on the Mac than version 9 did.

Hopefully its good enough for Smugmug to use the Flash Player across both platforms.
