Scotland, Mull, Andy
NY to Glasgow... after dinner, a walk down to the River Clyde, a little
Glasgow Sunset: (Canon 1Ds Mark III, 24-105L @93mm, 15sec @ f/22) ![]() The next day we head up to Loch Lomond area and Marc says "let's climb a little hill!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Scots are a tough bunch, they don't believe in traversing much, but still it was a great climb, beautiful weather and nice rewards at the top (Canon 1Ds Mark III, 24-105L@70mm, 1/50th sec @ f/14). ![]() Next day: off to the ferry, and then the Isle of Mull. ![]() The ferry ride to Mull was beautiful. ![]() Tobermory is a lovely little fishing village-cum tourist town. After dinner, you have gobs of time to get going again, sunset this time of year was around 930pm and then more shooting opps after that (Canon 1Ds Mark III, Canon 24-105L @ 55mm, 1/2sec f/11). ![]() And then, you can set your alarm for 0h-dark-thirty (actually, 4am) and take a 2 mile walk from Tobermory out to this lovely lighthouse: (Canon 1Ds Mark III, Canon 24mm TS/E on board. 3 shot vertical pano. 6 sec, f/11. Full file is 45 megapixels, should make a nice print ![]() ![]() If you run back to the village fast enough, you can get early light on the harbor and the painted houses. ![]() Again, if you wait around long enough, you can get a sunset ![]() (Canon 1Ds Mark III, Canon 24-105L @ 65mm. 6 seconds @ f/22. 10stop ND filter on board.) ![]() Enjoy (Scottish) photography, |

So you DID make it to the top of Mt Everest! Your companions implied that you did not.
I love the view from the top. You could have said you were on an airplane and I wouldn't know the diff. The sun was really working in your favor around Glasgow that day. (And every other day) So wonderful, and you came back with some killer shots. I think we all have many photos of Andy/Smuggy arms aloft, dotting the countryside. I'll see if we can't get a thread going about those...
