Is smugmug experiencing unusually high traffic today?? Processes that haven't taken too much time in the past, are moving at the speed of smell today....

Yeah, I just posted this to another thread:

Ouch, sorry you're seeing this. We have been having some performance issues in the last few days, especially today. We're completely focused on it.

I'm not looking at server logs like the engineers are, but I have a hunch: we introduced a new full screen slideshow that has become enormously popular, sales and traffic are on fire, and the spike in traffic exceeded our planning.

Hopefully we'll get ahead of it quickly.
