Is this a Great Horned Owl? He was quite large.

Not as good as a GBH or an egret but it will do. Seriously, thats a real good capture.

Now if you can just get him away from all those distracting twigs and leaves.

Well sorry you had to settle for an owl! These guys don't make it easy to get a good shot, usually you can't tell them from the tree. Good work Ric! You might check the nearby trees for fledglings!

Excellent capture Ric.. The one I've managed to capture is pretty calm if I approach very slow. They are cool to have in your portfolio. I've only seen one around here and it hangs in the same place most of the time.
