Last weekend in London we went to Sion Park to shoot butterflies.
Stupidly, I forgot to bring my 100mm macro so I used my 70-300 DO which surprizingly did the job correctly. Here are some examples:

Hey Moti - I just wanted to say I think those 1st two images are gorgeous. Im very impressed. I know that lens and it was a keeper except it became redundant to own - i already had a 70-200 and a 100-400. Anyway really REALLY nice images of butterflies!!!

Outstanding Moticlap.gif Much better than my butterfly shots that I got awhile back. I used my macro lens for those shots. After seeing yours I might go back and try them again with my 70-200.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Oh yes Andy, I love this lens and it was you who recommended it for me at the first place. It has its limitations but when you travel a lot, you really start to appreciate that lens.
    Thanks for your comments. :D

Thank you Trish. These purple colors were wery beautiful but I'll have to go again in the summer, there will be much more flowers and the butterflies are even more colorful.

Thank you Troy. I saw some of your photos with his lens before buying and was very impressed. It is a great travel lens but I think, one day I will buy a 100-400L or a 70-200 2.8L or both... :D

    Herry,
It's funny because actualy, I planned to use my macro lens but swapped it by mistake with the 70-300 DO. I got really mad when I opened my camera bag in London. As there was no other choice, I started to use it and was suprized by the results. and of courrse, I had the bonus of using it at the birds park. I think you shold try your 70-200.
    Thanks for passing,
    Moti
