I first put it in black and white and worked with the eyes and added the texture

has an authentic aged feel to it. I like how you've used it. Very nice shot too!

I like it....but .....

I think that to really look authentic or aged, some texture should be on his face and shoulder where you have masked it. Maybe not as much as the surrounding area, but some. A third layer with slight opacity might do it.
