I've been doing a rotten job of sharing photos in here. So I figured I'd start out w/ the ones I just dumped of my memory card today.

Hope you enjoy.

    Good pics Jon thumb.gif

I think that one might be called... an owl! ;) Very cool bird, whatever kind of owl it might be.

The tiger shots are pretty cool. What is that last thing??headscratch.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

rolleyes1.gif I've never seen a barn owl with its eyes closed. It looks pretty funny!

I love the composition of the elephant shot. Great way to emphasize the texture in the skin.

That owl looks like it has branches growing out of its torso. I like the 1st tiger shot and the elephant. The last one looks like a slender fish.

    Thanks for the comments!

The barn owl (thanks for telling me what it was) and the fish in the bottom were both taken practically in the dark w/ my 1.8.

The fish is [part of the needlefish family. not sure of it's exact species. I really wish I would have hade more DOF on this little guy, but available light wouldn't allow that. So I tried really hard to get his "head" sharp. (not easy to do in the dark through glass ;)

I'd love to be a part time birder. But the best I can do w/ glass right now is my 70-200 2.8 so I've got a long way to go before I'm shooting anything wild. Not to mention there aren't a ton of birds in Central Oregon.
