Where's the EXIF?

Just wondering why there is no EXIF information on direct links to resized images?

Example...http://someuser.smugmug.com/photos/1234567890-L.jpg contains no data when opened with an EXIF viewer.

Can this be a feature request?

Thanks!

Smugmug does not include EXIF data on any generated image size. There have been prior feature requests to include at least some of the EXIF data (particularly copyright info and basic shooting data), but nothing has been promised. I believe the reasons for removing it are browsing speed (smaller files download faster) and reduced image storage.

Too bad. It's probably a processing power issue. Adding EXIF data to an image is nominal as it's only a small amount of text. However, resizing and including EXIF within each image might take a hit on processing since I'm sure SmugMug has images resized in the millions.
