Not QUITE a macro ...
Because 1) didn't expect to be in a butterfly garden that afternoon, and 2) didn't bring (or even own) a true macro lens. But I think the Pentax 50-200 did ok.

The purple things were just hanging from the branches of trees. I think they had some sort of butterfly food in them, because the butterflies liked them a lot. But that's just a guess.

What I actually know about butterflies could fit into a butterfly's head. However I have a strong inclination to hiding my ignorance by making stuff up that sounds good.
