3rd Party Battery Chargers
Has anyone bought/used a third party battery charger? I recently lost my battery charger for the 20D's BP511A battery. So, now I need to get a new charger and a replacement battery. From the sound of it, it seems like 3rd party battery manufacturers are OK. What about battery chargers? Any recommendations? Canon's charger (CG58) costs quite a lot!

I can't say that I've ever tried a 3rd battery charger. Batteries, yes.

Have you identified any candidates?

You're talkin about something like this? IDK...for 20 bucks savings over the canon one is it worth the chance of killing your batteries?

I've used third party chargers, you should be fine. Only once in a while will you receive one that will ruin your batteries, its just a higher percentage of bad quality control on aftermarket ones, I say give it a shot. But if you can find a normal charger, I would invest on that, just for the peace of mind.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm seeing...these non-Canon chargers that are half the cost of the Canon products. I'm worried that the chargers will mess up the batteries by either not giving it enough juice or overjuicing. Any non-Canon batteries anyone would recommend? I lost a spare battery along with the lost charger. Double doh!!

I like the Targus Digital Universal charger for Canon, will charge just about every type of battery needed for Cannon devices.
