Canon 5d kit rebate (fall 2007)?

If this Canon rebate is real, then a 5D kit (less the rebate) will run you about $2,300.00. If you sell the lens separately, then you're going to have one helluva good deal on the 5D body alone.

    This is the Canadian Rebate forms. No reason to believe the the US rebates wont be similar, but not yet announced.

    See the back where its says" Offer only available in Canada."

    I'm sure we have a few Canadians on these boards that can benefit from this :D

    As Zanotti mentioned, I don't see why Canon would leave out the U.S. on a similar deal in the near future.

    I think it must be real (in Canada of course) as it is also on Henry's Photo site in Toronto at: http://instacontent.mirror-image.net/henrys/resources/rebateforms/CanonDoubleSavings.pdf

    The odd thing is Canon Canada doesn't have it listed on there site yet

    I just ordered the Canon EOS 5D 12.8 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens and I am looking forward to my $1000 rebate.
    I'm am very much a beginner but because of this deal I am going to get a high end camera for about what I would have paid for a mid range. I am so excited.

    As for the lens, what do you guys think? Good overal lens?
