Wow! Wow! Wow! I'm so stoked that photos I thought should be in the top 10 are in the top 10. It's almost as if my home team just won!

I knew Surfer's Halo would take first place.. That's an awesome shot. I really wanted to get surfing shots myself, but in Oregon we don't get many surfers... Surfers think the water in norther california gets cold enough to usually need some insulation. Up here, it's colder and most of the places that actually get waves are cliffs with no beaches and travel just wasn't quite possible.

As far as my entry - It was last minute and more of a tongue in cheek afterthought than a serious effort. I was going to skip this one because I was drawing blanks on ideas and had very few chances to take pictures. I did take that picture (and a bunch more similar to it) yesterday, though and by the time I made it home the idea had perculated.

Gratz to winners of this round. Your semi-final has already begun.

I want to give a special thanks to Felicia. I would not have know this contest existed if she had not happend to see my Surfer's Halo shot on my smugmug page and encouraged me to enter. I am honored to be amongst so many talented photographers. No clue what to do for the next round!
