Fun, isn't it? You're going to like the possibilities with IR shooting. Sky/clouds/water/foliage/old buildings can all come together to make an unbeatable IR subject combo. What's with the vignetting? Did the filter do that?

Dunno.
Yes, it is! A step by step of Andy IR tutorial and no vignetting. Guess that is the filter. Actualy is a 62mm IR with a step down ring (62 to 58) on a not so good for IR 18-55mm with a Rebel 350D unmod. After 2 long hours into the sun on a v.hot day I'm still not feeling well but It's my bad. Just for the record, 70-300 IS USM is not for IR. Next time I'll try 50/1.8. Tks.

Well done!
Great first attempt. You've done a tremendous job of capturing what IR can do and it's a cool photo. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more.
