Assignment #35: Chrome

Ye bikers, ye classic car lovers, ye kitchn knife gods - gather 'round and bring your cameras! We're shooting chrome!

Well, stainless steel, or any other shiny polished metallic surface would qualify, too.

Your "chrome" object should be a primary subject of the frame. Classic car shows are definitely the easiest game in town, but if you look around, you can find plenty other shiny metallic stuff.

One of the caveats: try to avoid catching your own reflection. One way to do it is to find a vantage point where your own refelection coinsides with a heavily curved surface, thus making it virtually undetectable. And if push comes to shove - PS to the resque!

Nice "sun star" or two is an extra credit.

As usual: fresh pictures, moderate post-processing.

No, I won't say that.

Instead I'm going to say that I would really prefer one nice picture of "chrome" to six pictures of "glass".

I know the assignment doesn't say mono, but I think the shiny stuff looks better this way...

Kodak Moment.

(The shiny bit on the camera is probably nickel plate rather than chrome - so not that shiny really.)

This is an original early '50s mascot, straight from the factory (thanks, grandpa).

Now I just need the XK to sit under it!

What can I do if the chromes are inside the glass and I can't take them out ?
