Birds of Prey, 56k warning, many pics
Today I had a chance to go to an open house at a local wildlife refuge.
I got to photograph many of their educational birds. These are birds that cannot survive in the wild. I hope you enjoy them. It might be my imagination, but they look almost a little sad, or at least a bit resigned to their fate. Regardless, it's nice to see them in such detail. Regards, -joel |

Thx for the kind words evryone.
I had not thought of them as looking sad until now, but I guess I can see it. It helps to remember that these birds would all b dead if they were not in captivity. Staving to death is a rough way to go. I almost deleted the last eagle shot due to the missing eye. He got hit by a train no less. It's hard to believe a bird that can fly would let itself get hit by a train. I copied and flipped and pasted the eye from his left on to his right, and did a little blending etc. I think it looks ok. |
