It's also rude to type in all CAPS and rather tacky to tell people what is or is not sportsmanlike. I'd like to think that anyone can vote for whatever image they deem to be the best without having to worry about what you think. Does a candidate running for office really vote for the opposition out of sportsmanship? One man, one vote...

    From the challenge rules

"* in the spirit of good competition, please do not vote for your own photo"

Not all that difficult to understand. This is not a political campaign but merely a friendly photogaphy challenge. Even if it wasn't contrary to the challenge rules it would be shabby to vote for yourself

Hey, Truth, he's simply reminding us all of the challenge rules. They are the rules for our challenges, not for political elections. As such, they are much simpler and easier to understand. :D

Wow, I have to say that this challenge threw me a curveball, both in topic and in top 10. There are many that I thought would make it that didn't, many more that I thought didn't even have a chance that made it, but a few that I knew would be in all along.

    Great photos all.

I enjoy being a participant, but I agree with the curve ball statement above and the voting usually reflects it as well. Congrats to the eventual winner!

    Ditto on both counts.

I would add that the curse of whatever photo I vote for being 3rd has been broken!

I registered to vote as a Democrat in Chicago when I was 18 and I can only assume that I have been voting Democratic there ever since. rolleyes1.gif

Back on topic, congratulations to the finalists and everyone who entered the challenge. Not an easy one, but people here always seem to come up with creative approaches. thumb.gif

Busy night at the ballots... we had a few of our senior citizen volunteers nearly faint from all the action! 105 voters is a good turnout for the first evening. Keep those votes coming! thumb.gif

Congratulations to all of the finalist.
Not only for making the top, but for getting a shot that reflects "system".
This had to be one of the most challenging contest that I've seen so far.
    Good Luck to you all!
