I had the pleasure of being back in one of the places i have lived in recently, Naples, Florida. One of my favorite spots there is the Naples Pier. When I was there, I never did a lot of shooting for some reason, but since I was there anyway, I figured I might as well take a few photos.

I haven't done too much processing on it yet (the colors are actually very similar to the colors i saw)

Let met know what you think.

Oh, I found some more of/about the pier:

And I had to get one for Harry. Now that I am looking at it, i think it needs to be rotated about a degree, maybe two, CCW

I'd chop off the beach and the beachgoers and print it big, like a pano. nod.gif

Gorgeous sunset - never looked like that when I was there. Oh right, that's because I was always passed out by then from working 12 hours a day at the test track. umph.gif

Maybe.... I have some shots without the people as well.... but it turns into such a 'boring' sunset shot, so typical, you know what i mean?

That would be this test track, located a few miles east of Naples; exif: handheld, altitude: 2000', air moving past camera&hands: 120knots :D

    Yeah, I guess you're right.

You know, I never realized the test track was that close to the highway. I forgot how long the straight was.

Not really. I know the train is not there anymore. The Central Station still is though. It's not a station anymore, i think it's a little shopping plaza now. And it needs some paint too. I believe the railroad used to go up north, to the Ft Myers area.

Somewhere around Ft Myers, there is a piece of railroad left, and a train runs there as a tourist attraction. You can get a dinner and 'murder on the train' mystery show.

I was looking through the pile of cheap books and found a book on the
subject. It's next on the list. Right after I finish Starship Diaries (it's
getting to be a slow read...).

It looks like you're in a submarine, shooting through a periscope. :D

    I like it, cool treatment.
