Smugmug and PSE 5

Perhaps a silly question, but I'm an old film guy just getting my head wrapped around digital. I have PSE 4 and a trial version of PSE 5. I tried the direct download to my Smugmug gallery. Very fast and easy! I shoot in Raw, convert and edit with PSE and save as a PSD file. I was able to download very large PSD files to my gallery using PSE 5. My question is, are these files converted to JPEG by Smugmug, and if so, what quality? I ask this because I expect to be ordering large (11x14) prints of some images.
Thanks,
Bill D.

Unless something changed, smugmug doesn't support PSD files.
    More info here: http://www.smugmug.com/help/upload-photos
Check your photos uploaded log to see if you have any errors like this:
    200x50Watermark.psd | Error upload problem: | Non-JPEG/GIF/PNG/MPG
    Try uploading jpeg file.
re: ordering large print, check smugmug's minimum print requirements here:

    Hope this helps....

The photos are there and are listed in the log as PSD files.

headscratch.gif I just tried to upload a PSD, and received an error.
Maybe Andy, Barb or one of the Pros can give you a hand with this one..

PSE5 is converting anything that's not a JPEG, GIF, or PNG to JPEG prior to upload, including PSDs.

    Hope that helps!

I enabled right click and checked out the original size properties. It shows a JPG file of 401404 bytes for a 3136 x 2352 image. PSD file was 45.2 Mb.
It seems that uploading a PSD from PSE 5 results in a pretty small file.

You'd have to take that up with Adobe, I don't think we have any control over that. As you know, we're happy to accept 8MB (or 16MB for Pros) files, so 400K is way below our limits. :)

    Saving files in PSE5
Be sure you use Save As, and if working from RAW files and you want to upload to SmugMug, be sure NOT to check

Save in version set with Original. Just do a normal "save as" jpg and then upload that file thumb.gif
