Tutorials

Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Africa!

FS: Photo/Video Editing PVR PC
I built this PC to actually be a PVR (Personal Video Recorder - like a TiVo) but actually used it more for video and photo editing. I'm putting the box up here first, but if there are no bites, it's going to be sold for parts on the 'Bay.

This was built to "QuietPC" standards, so even at full tilt, you wouldn't know the machine is running unless you looked at the power light.

The case is a Silverstone GD-98 which is a micro-ATX form factor. For a full review, see http://www.fastlanehw.com/reviews.php?i=78&page=1

The system board is an Abit IS-10, with a 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 Processor, 512Mb DDR2 400 memory and a Zalman CNPS7000 Al-Cu Processor Fan/Heat Sink.

The system includes the following hardware:

Hauppage PVR-250 DVR card with remote
Sapphire Radeon 9600 with analog and DVI ports
Create SB-Live! Value card
Microsoft MN-730 802.11b/g wireless card
Liteon 851-S (DVD+/-R dual layer capable)
Western Digital Caviar 7200RPM SATA 80Gb drive (system drive)
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA 200Gb drive (data drive)

Floppy disk drive with built in CF and SD card reader
Logitech Wireless Duo - black keyboard and black/silver mouse
(The DVD drive and diskette drive has been vinyl dyed to match the case)

I have all driver diskettes and CDs

I can wipe the drives or leave as is.

The system currently has WinXP SP2 loaded and I will provide the CD and license.

The system also had Meedio Pro 1.36. This is an alternative to Windows XP Media Edition.

Other software can be left on or removed.

Asking price is $1400, plus insured shipping via UPS or Fedex.
(Paypal add 3%)

Local pickup is preferred, if possible. My zip is 11364.

I have 1500+ positive feedback on Ebay.

Thanks for looking!
