Is that.......RICE???

In my entire professional career in wedding photography I have seen real rice ONCE in over 200 weddings, and they PAYED someone to clean it up. Please tell me it is birdseed.

Actually it was colored soap shavings. Hot day, white dress, pink soap....the thought scared me.

Back when my wife and I was planning our wedding (3 years ago) we were able to find rice that specificly stated that it was "bird safe" for weddings. I have also seen things that the whole rice thing is just folklore and a myth. We ended up using small bells being rung instead of be pelted by some projectiles .

the discussion on rice intriqued me becasue I had never heard anything against throwing rice. So, I did a little snooping:

As usual Kate your work is so dynamic. I absolutely LOVE the little boy on the right that you caught in mid-air.

I love that 1st one. Your work always tends to take a step out of boring old photography and a step into art.
