Alaska on 2 wheels...
Back in May/June, I took a solo 5-week journey from Texas, up to Alaska... a total of 13,500 miles. Met a lot of great folks on the way... here are a few of my thousands of pics:

Going-to-the-Sun Highway running through Glacier National Park:

Somewhere in Montana:

My trusty Steed:

Wish I had views like this on the roads down here in Tx:

A steamy road cutting through British Columbia:

My first Glacial encounter. Bear Glacier, just outside Stewart, B.C.

And a few pics heading up that gravelly road just past Hyder, AK to see Salmon Glacier... outstanding!

South of Fairbanks, on the Denali Highway (yes, it's a dirt road!)...

I was worried about this precipitation coming my way... rain + freezing temps + muddy road = no fun. Imagine my relief when I rolled into it and it was snow! Yee Ha!

Dawson City, Yukon:

Bridal Veil Falls, outside of Valdez, AK:

A break off of the bike, for some King Salmon Fishing:

Some of these photos are absolutely stunning. Sure wish I had had the time to do AK that when when I was there just a couple of months ago. But, I went there to visit family and didn't really get too far from the beaten path.

I'm thinking you really had a good time and captured the experience of a life-time.

Thanks so much for sharing!

You're brave. I don't like cold enough to do that. I have been to Alaska in July and it's absolutely beautiful, yet still cool. I enjoyed Denali NP. Looks like you had an awesome time. Lovely shots.

Wow, a real adventure. Don't see to many of those anymore. What an experience to have.

Kudos for having the stones to do it on your own, I wouldn't expect any less from a Texan. Then again, all the guys from Texas I've known are the crazy "jump on the back of a bull" rodeo types.

Revco, thanks for the write up and piccies, the trip you took is the kind many riders aspire to. It's great to see a travelogue.
