Welcome to DGrin, I like the lighting, alittle soft and two centered but the lighting looks good and so does the background.

thank you ;)

It a first pic out of the whole shoot, I'll come back tomorrow with a "real" process : I've had to edit the image on my 12" laptop, this ain't the best...

Welcome to d-grin!
What lighting did you use? Normally, I wouldn't like everything going on in the background for a posed shot...but, this works.

Hi,

well, I didn't use much gear :

Just my sb800 and an ombrella on the left, link to my camera with a synch cable. This all go through my sekonic flashmate (L308 or something like that) which I've used to determine a correct aperture.

I think the flash power was something like 1/2 or 1/1.

By the way : I'm not really into "luxurious" background either, I mean: for a portrait so, in fact, this is why I use the flash that way, underexposing the background.
Anyway, the suburban environment was really important for that portrait.

This is France but one can feel the american suburb's influence

Now it's done:

Here is how I lighted up the whole thing.

Don't hesitate to correct me if my English is wrong.
