Thanks for the entry! Nice lines and triangles!

Normally I'd suggest to clone out that bottom left dark corner, but here it fits nice as a line :-)

Glad we're starting to have some Sony guys coming, brings some color to our duotone Canon-Nikon society

And yours is actually taller and thicker than our local variety. I wonder if it's the different brand of bamboo or ours is simply too young?

I'd also humbly suggest some Anti-PF treatment. It takes just a few seconds in PS with no additional s/w to purchase..

PF? Sorry, I'm new to some of the abbreviated terminology. I can only assume it has to do with that terrible hot spot right in the middle of the shot; I had no idea that was there until I got home (the camera picked up way more light than my eyes did, apparently). Not totally sure how to reduce that without affecting the whole image.

It's a particular representation of a more general color distortion, usually referred to as CA (Chromatic Aberration).

PF usually happens when a camera encounters a high contrast areas on a small, finely shaped subjects, such as when you shoot towards a bright sky through the foliage. But virtually any high contrast border can produce some.
It really depends on the lens quality and how sensor treats those high contrast areas. Sony's 828, which I owned at a time, although being a very nice P&S with a high quality CZ optics, was notoriously bad about PF.

Ah OK, that makes sense. It's funny, because I had this picture in PS and was ready to attack it (the blues/violets) with the Hue/Sat tool, but I figured I would just leave it alone unless someone said something about it. That didn't take long, haha.
