No Private Messages Please
I and your volunteer helpers get a zillion private messages asking for customization help.

We won't answer them in private message. I've asked everyone to post new threads with the PMs, and answer the questions in the open forum.

WHY?

A question by ONE (you) can be answered by MANY (me, and all of the fine helpers on Dgrin). The answer by ONE can benefit MANY (you and the others that are new, or haven't yet asked the question, or maybe they find the thread by searching. And just imagine if a few of us here got hundreds of PMs a day

You do yourself a disservice, too - I'm not the only one that can answer - and I have been known to be incorrect ...once or twice

So, please - no private message questions for customization help.

Thank you for 100% cooperation and understanding.

Hi JR

In my FAQ:

#27
http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=223080&postcount=2

The part that's left is called the "mini-footer" and that cannot be removed. You can remove the cartlink and login link if you like, that's described here (#28 on the FAQ):
http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=227694&postcount=11

You can do all this with Power account.

Sure we can help you. Start a thread, with specific, detailed, and exact questions. Don't be shy! You'll get help, I promise. Don't forget to include your website.

A couple of us are away thru Sunday so your help may take a little longer in coming, but IT WILL come I promise you.

No, but you can post a message in the forums, and there folks here (Mike Lane, JerryR and others) who are qualified and will do the services for a fee.

You can't pay me, but I and the many volunteers can get you going here in no time - if you are not in a hurry (like, you can do it over a week or so)... we've done it with many folks, and we can do it for you, too NO CHARGE! How cool is that?

I have a logo that appears perfectly in both Firefox and Opera, but is
horribly pixelated in IE on a 1920x1200 laptop (I haven't been able to
test it on other machines yet).

The site is only local at present, but I think you were indicating that
it was a CSS problem, so I've pasted in below the code. The final line
of the HTML excerpt is the image that gets pixelated by IE. I have
already tried it with and without the size information, with no effect.

If you're able to advice, that would be much appreciated!
You need the IE png fix. It looks like this:

filter: progidXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader (enabled=true,
sizingMethod=scale src='http://yourfilename.png');

Sent a pm but got an error message so sending an email.

My gallery is jamfoto.smugmug.com

I did a few customizations but they only work on some galleries. Can
you let me know what I am doing wrong.

Changes I made were

1. customize the right click warning
2. remove the smugmug logo from the header
3. removed the slideshow icon from the header

THey show up in the EMC/Vellum, gallery but the Santa Cruz Gallery
works fine.Thank you
You have hide owner turned on in customize gallery. Or you have appearance set to "smugmug" not "custom." Check these gallery settings and you'll be fine.

Many thanks for that - it looks like the forum software converted part of the code into a smiley - can you confirm what that bit should be?

Also, where exactly does this code go on the webpage? In the head serction?

Ben
it goes in your CSS as part of the background statement.

the smiley is in lieu of "colon D"

I wish to receive the mail from both sites in the same recipient.
Is that possible please ?
Obrigado.

Sorry, Antonio, each account must have a separate email address. I wish I had a better answer for you.

My question is once you get the nav bar completed, how to you create the links to each word you've included in the bar?

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm really new to this. Again, sorry to bug you. If you have a link or two to which you can refer me for a tutorial or something that'd be great.

Thanks, Dan
Hey Dan, you can create a link in a navbar just like you create a link in any html site. The link syntax looks like this (just the part in red):

Code:
I'm a <a href="http://www.cnn.com/">link</a>!
So in your navbar you'll have something like this:

Code:
<ul>
 <li><a href="http://yoursite.smugmug.com/whatever.html">Link 1</a></li>
 <li><a href="http://yoursite.smugmug.com/whatever2.html">Link 2</a></li>
 <li><a href="http://yoursite.smugmug.com/whatever3.html">Link 3</a></li>
</ul>
That'll make it so your navbar links to places. For more information about how to create links go to http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp and go play around with your new found knowledge here.

Hope that helps.
