Ok, I am not sure if this is the correct place for this post, but here goes...

My wife recently went back to film. We recently moved and so have not yet found a local photo shop that we would want to have process our film (ok, so there actually aren't *any* photo shops here unless you count Ritz...)

And now, the question. Do any of you know of a good place to mail film and get prints and negatives (and perhaps digitized versions as well)? We have found several online places that do, but most only give you low rez scans and we don't know what their processing quality is like.

So does no one here have experience with this? Surely some of you still shoot film now and then. But then again, you all probably have a lab nearby that is decent.

Someone might come along soon with some info, but I gotta tell you - with a question about where to send film (these days) there might not be many who post here with recent experience.

Most custom labs in the Chicago suburbs went missing a few years back.

While I haven't used them personally, these guys have a fantastic rep around L.A.

Thanks for your replies. I think we may try Shutterfly. We were thinking of using them before I posted. At least one vote for them, so we will try them out.

Using film does seem to be becoming rare these days. It was her choice, not mine. I suspect that she will stick with it for a couple of months, then quit. Truth be told, I hope to get a D200 sometime in the not too far flung future. When I do, I suspect she will take over my D70.
