best 580ex buy?
I have been wanting to get the canon 5680ex for my canon 20D. I was looking on B&H and have noticed that they have a external pack for your belt. What is better; the Canon or the one B&H offers the "Quantum Instruments"?

I also notice they have a "Quantum Instruments" 2x2 by iut's self as they have a 580ex and a Quantum Instruments but not the 2x2... does any one use this flash with an out side power source or do you just use the internal battery packs?

While I have no first hand experience with the 580ex or the packs (I shoot a Sigma) I read some comments on FM stating that the Quantum (I believe) had a nasty habit of occassionally frying 580's with repeated firings, and that the Canon was more than sufficient without the risk.

I use the Canon 580ex with the CP-E3 battery pack. Use Rechargeable 2500mh batteries.

Really like the setup - shoots fast and tirelessly
