Tutorials

Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Africa!

Dgrinners Harryb, Pathfinder, and others joined Andy Williams and Marc Muench on Safari in East Africa recently. Here are some awesome threads to check out!

First Post on digital Grin
My name is James Eakin and I live in Shreveport, Louisiana. This is my first post on Digital Grin. I have enjoyed the "People" section on DG for about a year now (lots of talented photographers). My interest in photography started three years ago and includes shooting, PJ, Landscapes, and studio portraits. I have always liked technical hobbies like Ham Radio, I guess that is another reason I love photography. I have learned a lot visiting DG and DPreview. Keep posting and commenting. Thank you.

Please feel free to view the images on my web site. http://www.eakinphotography.smugmug.com/ and leave a comment there and here on DG.

James,

Welcome to dgrin!!

I like the looks of your studio lighting also.

I would swear that the studio strobes I see are Flashpoints, from Adorama's wedding kit. Is that correct? I have a pair of those strobes and find them very satisfactory.

Again, welcome to dgrin

Thanks Andy and Pathfinder
Andy, I read how to post photos on DG. I will post some in the future. Thanks for your comments on my studio and portraits. I have seen the images on your web site and some you posted here-Outstanding!

Pathfinder, Yes the lights are Flashpoint 1820s. The lights are great, I wish I had the knowledge to operate them better - I am still learning. I use
Canon DSLRs new 5D and old 10D. Thanks for asking about the studio.

Hi James

Grab this link instead, and you'll be able to post the pics inline.
