Back-printing Copyright symbol

Just wondered if anyone knows whether the Copyright symbol © is now OK to use in one's backprint. I currently have this instead (C) because one of the print companies couldn't print the copyright symbol. (I don't recall which one; it was awhile ago & I'd used Bay Photo & one of the others.) Thanks for any update.

According to this website, Bay photo can do it:

"Bay Photo and Loxley enable backprinting on all print sizes and finishes and have space for 42 characters per print. They'll accept lowercase and capital letters, the copyright symbol, and all symbols commonly shown on an American keyboard such as & and @. The accents on accented characters will be removed."
My opinion does not necessarily make it true. What you do with my opinion is entirely up to you.

Thanks-- This is good to know. I sorta think it was the other company whose name I can't recall that had this issue. I do remember I actually had to go in and change my backprinting text before they could print my photos, due to my use of the copyright symbol! My shopping cart experience is a mess right now & soon I need to have someone help me evaluate & set it up properly. But, first things first...

EZPrints unfortunately cannot print the © symbol. It usually shows up as an underscore (_).

Weirdness..."Reply"ing or "Quote"ing a message here isn't putting the text you're replying to in the box like it usually does. Anyway, aaahhh, so yeah, it''s EZprints I was trying to think of. Well, that's a bummer. Does that mean though that it won't delay your print order now... they simply put a _ in there instead? (it's a couple yrs since I had the issue I mentioned) If so, I'll put the © there for Bay, as I have some galleries set to print through them (or did...) I figured when I make new galleries, I'd put the symbol in there if it's not an issue anymore.

    Question about the © symbol
    Hello,

We are checking and will verify that the © works on all of our back printers.

Thanks and we hope this did not cause you any issues.

Long standing issue, but not a deal killer. The @ symbol has never been printable by EZ Prints going back at least 8 years.

For some reason, this thread is still not quoting the message I "Reply" to. Just this thread. So, I'm quoting instead:

Thank you, David Egolf, for double-checking this. In the past, it did actually cause me problems when the © symbol didn't print, because I was asked to go back into all the files in an order & change the symbol. It took time & delayed the order, & I had to use (c) instead. And unfortunately, due to that, I've always used (c) since then. It sounds like more recently, a dash is just placed there instead (wish I'd have known that so I wouldn't have lost the © symbol on all my other prints) I would love for the © symbol to just work. But if so, I should then go back into each & every gallery to change the symbol to the "real" one that should be there, unless the engineers can write some script to change them all. So.... please keep us posted!! Thanks.

The Quote-reply is not working for me either. ne_nau.gif

I have created a thread in Smugmug support about it

    Well this is very strange.
Still doesn't work for me - might be a browser cache issue
