3 times at last nights game. ??

Even have a new high speed card that I paid $100 for. :dunno

Plus I had that stupid Sigma 120-300. It was failing all night as well.

Super bummed with all this crap.

Do you turn it off in order to unfreeze it? Remove the battery? What works?

And did it really freeze, or just playback. I've had mine periodically freeze where playback would not work for maybe 30 seconds, but the camera continues to take pictures (well, unless you fill the buffer). I think it's temporarily stuck doing some kind of update, changing folders -- not sure. But I've stopped trying to fix it and just wait and keep shooting. Annoying but not a killer problem if it's the same.

If you don't have it, be sure the latest firmware is in.

Yeah, waited for about a minute after a pic, just a black screen, green light, and turned it off and never goes off. So have to remove battery grip then remove battery out of camera, and then it goes off and works again for a while until it does it again. Crazy, and frustrating.

    I know right!! :D

    I'm so tempted! mwink.gif

I need to take back that Pro Master card, and try again with the Extreme Pros, I dont think I had that problem with them cards.ne_nau.gif

Also it works fine with all my Nikkor glass too. I pulled the lens mount ring, cleaned inside ring and spring, and adjusted contact pins. Worked fine here at home. But its only when I'm on a football field that when it decides to not work with the new Sigma.headscratch.gif

You know, that one moment that one super duper kid makes it to the end zone... yeah, thats about when the lens fails me or the camera freezes up. otherwise its all good.thumb.gif

I'm with Ferguson, what happens if you wait after it freezes? The reason I ask is the d800 is a 4fps or so body. Which means you can shoot a burst and then it starts buffering. If you overrun the buffer, the camera stops until it's buffers are written to the memory card. For the best performance, I would choose a card Nikon recommends. Some of your performance problems could be brought on by the memory card too.

    Ah cool! Thanks.

Thats what I'll do then. Out goes the ProMaster.

Oh and FWIW I never ever shoot in burst mode.
