Full Screen Scroll Bars Problem

When showing a 1920 x 1080 Original Size picture on a 1920 x 1080 monitor in full screen mode there are scroll bars on both sides even though the picture would fit.

You should check to see what your screen resolution is actually set for.
I tested this image and it appeared full screen. http://www.dennismullen.com/Galleries/Animals/Bird-Cage/i-FqH95nX
Also check your default zoom level in your browser. Usually view>zoom>100%

What is your monitor resolution?

It is full screen on my 1920 x 1200 monitor but not my 1920 x 1080 monitor.

Anyone else with a 1920 x 1080 monitor, could you test this?

I tried with Chrome and it worked OK. The scroll bars appear in Firefox.

Browser chrome in FF is different, I'm sure. That affects things.

I can't view my pictures full screen as promised!
An original size picture with a height of 1080 should fit on a 1920 x 1080 monitor but produces an unneeded scroll bar in Firefox.
Why is this being ignored? It is a big problem!

The problems with the gallery slideshow are a whole different problem.

Mean while another problem. The pictures on the gallery page aren't rendered properly in Firefox. This picture has a pinstripe border but it's missing on the bottom and right side in the gallery view.

I just clicked that link to check out your pinstripe and I see it slightly different to how you describe it...

For me, during first load the image has a pinstripe border on all four sides, but right at the very end of the page-load the image seems to stretch (not nudge) downwards a pixel or two, thus shoving the bottom-edge border out of the image window where it can't be seen. The pinstripe borders on the top and sides are retained.

Subsequent "normal" loading of the same image always show the "stretched" image, but an F5 refresh or a reload after a cache-clear will show the "stretch" phenomenon again.

Opening the image in Lightbox clearly shows borders on all four edges.

I suspect that the image's display size is being recalculated or otherwise tweaked after the initial load (in Gallery view), a "fine-tuning" thing, and that there's some "rounding" or something else going on in the recalculations.

Did any or all of that make any sense?

I'm on XP and FF using a smaller monitor than you do (1280 x 800) so I understand that I'll see your site through different "digital" eyes.

Yes it makes sense. This problem and the unneeded scroll bar problem in Firefox are probably related.
They do not show up in Chrome. The white text on white background problem in the replace feature works correctly in Chrome as well.

Oddly, the remember log on information works now in Firefox, but doesn't in Chrome!

A common Firefox extension is AdBlock Plus. It worked after I right clicked on the log in page and changed AdBlock plus to allow pop ups on this site.

Yeah, I have ABP but I've had it disabled for the login page and for my SM site since early August, makes no difference.

OK, If I click in the middle of the email box and start to type my email it doesn't work for me either.

Try this with Firefox...

When the log in window opens first click on the little email icon to the left of the email box.
Then type the first letter of your email address.
A drop down list appears with your email address, click on it.
The rest of your email address and password are filled in.
Click log in.

If I skip the step of clicking the email icon first the information will not fill in.
This may be unique to me but I'm throwing it out there.

Also I was able to get logged in through the Facebook log in with Chrome that isn't available with Firefox.

Tried it, it failed where I've added the *** in the quote above: there's no drop-down list.
I appreciate your efforts and suggestions though

Didn't try the Facebook or Chrome routes as I have (and want) neither.
No great shakes, I only need to log in occasionally as I always stay logged in and, unlike some folk, I hardly ever get logged out against my wishes.

How goes it with the Full Screen Scroll Bars Problem? Any joy?

Everyone is talking about footer caused scroll bars while this other problem has been pointed out months ago and still exists!
