Hi-jacked Meta Data Really

Ok I was looking at the source code of a few of the folks who switched and had some features or a nice site.
In the new source code it is easy for anyone to see what account type the website rather easily ie
"plan":"Business" or "plan":Power" etc

And it Looks like those who switched and customized their own Meta Data for Search Engine Optimization Are edited by Smug Mug and they add in the extra meta data "Billions of happy photos, millions of passionate customers. Gorgeous online photo albums. Protect your priceless memories. Buy beautiful prints"

Really Smug Mug Wow so you are even advertising on our Business sites definitely NOT COOL!!!!!!!!!

I looked at Andy's Site Moon River <meta name="description" content="Moon River Photography by Andy Williams. Fine art and landscape photography. Private instruction in NYC and workshops worldwide.: Billions of happy photos, millions of passionate customers. Gorgeous online photo albums. Protect your priceless memories. Buy beautiful prints &amp; gifts."/>

From my preview
<meta name="description" content="5 Star Photography Professional Photography for any occasion: Billions of happy photos, millions of passionate customers. Gorgeous online photo albums. Protect your priceless memories. Buy beautiful prints &amp; gifts."/>

My legacy site has no coding that shows what type of user I am nor does it Tag MY meta data.

Smug Mug I think you might have made an error I pay you to host my photos I don't Pay you to advertise for your company in my Meta Data especially with a Pro / Business Account

    Wow......that's a good find.

I would certainly like to hear from Don himself explaining this.

Has anyone submitted a help desk ticket (I have not -- I hoped they might respond here -- and they pretty much ignored my more serious subcategory ticket implying I was just one of a big crowd and they didn't have time to respond individually).

I got that when I Googled myself (as you do) Bit cheeky that!?
By the way, Smugmug tells us this:
"We don't. We don't spam, don't display ads, don't have popups, and don't track you."
    My Google search reveals:

Wow, that is a new low. I started out loving this new SM, but wow.... seriously SM, wtf are you doing?

Get that OUT of my meta descriptions, today. I am not paying hundreds of dollars a year to advertise for you. The fact that the exact same phrase is in everyone's code is also a *huge* SEO issue, because it will look like spammed duplicate content.

The bugs are annoying, and I am not happy about losing my Adsense income because you unilaterally removed JavaScript. But I WILL cancel if this is not fixed immediately.

I just submitted a ticket on this. I'll let you know what they say, since apparently no one from SM reads here. (Yes, I know they sometimes do, but it's being 99% ignored).

I'll be generous and suggest that it may well be unintentional. Given that they don't actually mention Smugmug in the description tag I'm not sure it has value as advertising. But it should definitely be addressed.

Is that meta removal change just for the Pro users? I have a Power account, and it's still there.

Mine is power and it's gone from mine.

Don't check google (which takes a long time), so a view source.

Yeah, that's what I used and it's still showing in my source code.

I never had any personalized meta data before...maybe that's why it's there, because there's not anything to replace the SmugMug stuff?

That would be correct... I believe the SmugMug meta data only gets replaced if you set one to replace it
