Links to unlisted galleries showing (maybe?)

This may be part of the same issue I asked about here, but I'm not going to "unveil" to find out :rolleyes

Here's the scenario: I have some smart galleries that pull images from unlisted galleries that I want to remain "unlisted". They still work fine in the "new" smugmug, but the images all have links back to the unlisted galleries.

Like my previous question, are those unlisted galleries showing up because I'm logged in - or is this the behavior of the new smugmug (and therefore a bug)?

Has anyone tried it on a live site yet? I'd do it but I'm not ready to unveil just to find out.

Thanks!

Smart galleries will link back to the original galleries so if they are unlisted you are essentially making them public. This is the same way it worked on the Legacy SmugMug site and is not considered a bug.

Actually you're incorrect. I've got several public smart galleries and none of them link to the unlisted/hidden sources. So, I assume then that this is new behavior and something I need to address... Or it needs to be fixed.

I double checked that I didn't have some JS or CSS tricks going to hide those links but... nope, I don't.

Here's what the "new" gallery says in the description (with the link "From Aerials - 2013-07-09..." at the bottom):
    notfyeo.jpg

Here's what the "old" gallery says in the description:
    fyeo.jpg

And finally, here's what a normal viewer of that page sees at the bottom of the image on "legacy" SM:
    unlogged.jpg

Obviously showing those links to the public was not standard behavior of legacy SM (otherwise why would they have gone out of the way to specify the link was for my eyes only?).

Bottom line: I consider this a bug or at least undesirable behavior and deserves to be addressed. I don't accept that, because I'm making an image viewable by way of a smart gallery that I therefore am making a hidden gallery open to the public...but if that's the new philosophy of Smugmug then so be it. I just need to know for sure if this is going to be addressed and (hopefully) changed - or whether I need to delete my galleries or come up with another solution.

    Thanks

That's completely false. I'm still on the legacy site and am not planning to migrate until all of these bugs are worked out. I have many many galleries on my site that do not link back to original galleries if the original gallery is hidden, yet the smart gallery is available to be seen by the public. There are all kinds of handy uses for this kind of thing, as you should be able to imagine, and indeed, I've found it quite useful. If you need examples I'll be glad to provide them.

FYI - I posted a similar thread to this in the bug-reporting area here. I got a response from someone with a live new-SM site that confirms the new-SM behaves just like the old one. Unlisted galleries don't have links in public galleries - just like legacy SM. :)
