A small cold hoverfly

Spotted this hoverfly sitting on a camellia bud the other day. As soon as I started to hold a leaf near the bud, the hoverfly started to stretch towards my finger. I moved my finger a bit nearer and the hoverfly walked on for a warm up before flying back to a camellia leaf and feeding on some sugar/honey syrup.

Its hard to not be extremely impressed with works like these. You have got some kind of serious steady going on.
Hand holding a shot tough to do well and you plus many others posting to HM seem to do it with ease. :D Really sets the bar for excellence.

    Thanks :)
Not so hard when using flash to give high effective shutter speeds and resting the lens on the left hand
