Sorry but I'm not much of a bird watcher - so can't remember the name of the bird

However I was quite happy with how it turned out given we were on a big catamaran ploughing along in 4 foot swells looking for whales and I had my 70-300mm at 300mm with constant auto focus - hoping to get SOMETHING in the frame in focus what with all the bumping around because we couldn't hold on

So yeah i was pretty chuffed with this capture

Considering the conditions to shoot, this is great! I best like the reflection of the bird on the water.

Thanks PJ
Yeah I really liked the reflection too - just wish I'd been in a position to get the bird coming towards me - but hey i wasn't steering the catamaran (we would've capsized if I was hehe)

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Very nice shot.

I think the reflection is lovely and the space you've left gives an impression of the vastness of the ocean.

And you're right about the vastness - funny if you look at all my photos on a map (i geotagged all of them for the first time) from the holiday there are some way out in the ocean
