Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

re-create an Instagram-like scenario
So I'm trying to figure out if I can use SmugMug to create something that behaves similarly to what Instagram does for its photo sharing. (I have my own app, but don't really want to custom roll my own service for all of this, buy hosting, etc... would much rather just pay for a smugmug account).

Specifically, I'd like to be able to programmatically upload a photo to smugmug and have a specific URL that would point to a smugmug page (with a custom theme) which displays that image (along with some other information about my app, etc.)

Inotherwords, I'm wondering if I could duplicate a page similar to this: http://instagr.am/p/LlK5fgRz8y/
using smugmug.

Presumably I'd at least need the 'Power' level since I'd want my own URL/Domain, not a SmugMug one.

Does this seem possible given the capabilities of Smugmug's API and customization tools?

Any thoughts welcome!!!

Nobody? Based on what I'm seeing it feels like most of the capability is here, but I was hoping to avoid diving into the work until I got a bit of a confidence level from someone with more experience than I!

Basically all I need is:

1) Ability to programmatically (via API) post a photo to my Smugmug account
2) Have that photo show up on a customized single-photo gallery page which has a unique URL

Go for it, or give it up? :-)

For what you are wanting it feels like only uploading one image per gallery would give you the functionality you are wanting. But you are going to have an absolute ton of galleries if you go that way. But you can also link to the lightbox view if your galleries. That is a unique url you can point to. The lightbox is not nearly as customizable as the gallery page is though.
