Derwent Water Reflections
Here are a few reflections I took the other morning on Derwent Water, Keswick in the Lake District. C & C always welcome.

I liked the first one the best - especially its simplicity. I like how the trees are fully contained within the mountain backdrop. Nice work!

Hi Bob, you've got some very nice shots here - Derwent Water is a very special place. I really like #1 and #5
Cheers, Richard.

I agree with the others, #1&3 are great shots, the color and the framing is wonderful. I'd love to see that shot right after a rain. The only criticism I could offer is that some of your compositions seem a little bit tight to me, going a little bit wider might be nice.

Thanks for looking and replying I must admit I certainly have to agree that 1 & 3 are not too bad. When I first looked and glanced at number 2 found it a wee bit repugnant. Would you not agree?

Well, #2 has the dark trees at the left which are distracting, because there's enough of them to be a mess in the frame, but not enough of them to be a feature.
Pictures #1 and #3 have some real pixelation going on in the sky. I'm not sure what's going on with that? In general, I like the subject, and in many of the cases I like the composition (the framing in the last one is nice with the trees on top, though the beach in the lower right corner I'm not so fond of). My personal favorite is the picture of the boats. Also, in addition to the sky pixelation in the first few photos, they're all quite flat. The light isn't great, and they really need some post processing to bump up the contrast (a nice S-curve would likely work wonders). Unsure what you're using for PP but if you're shooting RAW and using a tool like Aperture or Lightroom, you could make quick work of that
