The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

gallery themes won't change
Hello everyone!

I'm not a professional photographer - I just use my SmugMug site for my family photos. Still, I wanted it to look a little bit cooler than the standard site, so I signed up for Digital Grin and read what I could (understand) and attempted to do a little site customization. (I know NOTHING about code, just cut and paste and tried my best). I thought it went ok, but something must be funky because now I can't change the Theme on most of my galleries, and a few Themes do stick but look strange, particularly in relation to the bar at the top. Can anyone help me? Here's our website.

shaikhs.smugmug.com

I'd also love any ideas on how to make it look a little better. It's kind of boring as is, but I don't really need a lot of the pages that the professionals need...really just a slideshow on the home page, a welcome page and the galleries themselves. I thought about buying a skin, but I can't afford the $400 for a family photo website. Any ideas on organization or making it look a little cooler would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
Meredith

You are losing the theme on some of your galleries because (I believe) you have them set to Hide owner. If you select that the URL that is used is www.smugmug.com and all traces of your customizations are hidden.

Make sure that Hide owner is set to no, and Appearance is set to Custom.

See the Look & Feel and Security sections of this help page - http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93307.
