I've been working on my long exposures more recently and enjoying the process as well as the conversion to black and white. This was taken tonight right at sunset.
f/5.6 - iso 100 - 8 minute exposure

I really like the minimalism of the shot. Nice strong contrast in tones, and the highly detailed texture of the drain is great against all the milky whiteness around. but I can't help but feel the left hand is a tad heavier than the right. The pier seems to be pointing to the left rather than centered although it might be just that the storm drain isn't actually level although the horizon is. Just nitpicking anyway, great shot.

Long expos are my favorite type of photography to do.... but I mess it up alot!

I really like the rock formation just past the edge, are you able to shot from the edge of that concrete pad/storm drain ? or is there to much splash going on? if possible I would like to see how it comes out.

Aaron - there are some great rocks in there and some old broken down pylons from forever ago. The tide was too high on this shoot but I'll definitely be coming back to the spot in the future.

Great shot and conversion. I like the minimalist feel.

It does feel a little shifted to the left but if you look at the foreground the dock is centered in the frame. I think the rocks in the water on the left are 'tipping' the picture.
