Suggestions for improving video sharing
I have been trying to share a video hosted by SmugMug and embedded on my Wordpress-powered site and found a number of areas where embedding may be improved. From the support hero emails that basically have pointed me to the limited options available at present, I take it there is little in the way of innovation on the horizon.

My suggestions:
1. Improve the iFrame embed implementation. Currently, using the Oembed option in WP is worlds better at embedding a properly sized video but there are no options that can be set for that. The iFrame option is much more powerful from that stand point but there are only two size options (the largest of which is much smaller than the oEmbed version that shows on my site).

2. Allow us to set HD on by default

3. Allow us to set the Home icon URL

4. Allow us to set the Share icon URL (ie to point to a FB page or site url)

5. Add an autoplay option to settings (this is possible by adding to the iFrame code but could be done more seamlessly)

Thanks

Anyone??? Been a week since I posted this and no answers/comments.

The other thing that I have found is that I can seamlessly embed a Vimeo or Youtube file in my Mailchimp campaigns. Would be nice if Smugmug offered this as well.

Eyal,

Thanks for your suggestions. Would you mind adding them to our feedback pages:
http://feedback.smugmug.com/forums/17723-smugmug
That way other users can vote and comment on your suggestion, and it would help us to keep track of all suggestions made.
Thanks!

Eyal,
Unfortunately videos take the back seat when it comes to improvements and customization.
Not only by the smugmug team, but also smugmug customers. There just isn't enough interest in more/advanced video features, therefore understandably Smugmug heros direct their efforts to other areas.
I asked for being able to buffer from the middle of the video, and it only takes a few key strokes to change the player used by SM, but there wasn't much interest in that, even if it meant saving SM a lot of bandwidth..
