iView Media to Lightroom conversion
Lightroom is on sale this weekend ($100 off) and a friend of mine would like to get it. He currently has his entire collection cataloged in iView Media Pro but would like to convert to Lightroom without losing his metadata. Has anyone tried this? What would happen to custom metadata fields in iView Media Pro?

Thanks.

If iView can write metadata to XMP or DNG files, then standard IPTC fields should import without problem into LR. Jpgs should also be straightforward. Custom fields would probably require a hack of some sort, which is not for the faint-hearted. You could probably find some examples on Google.
