Thanks Schmoo- Glass Beach is actually an old from the late 1940's. The locals use to dump their trash and glass there until 1967 when the North Coast Water Quality Board realized this was a bad idea and created a dump away from the ocean. The result is three coves of ocean polished glass literally 4-6 inches deep.
