Squirrel eats Large Grasshopper!

Well, seems Harry was right. Squirrels will destroy everything.....

A Gray Squirrel captured a Lubber Grasshopper in my yard this afternoon and ate it. I have seen reports stating that Lubber Grasshoppers were toxic and could harm small mammals, but on more that one occasion I have observed Gray Squirrels eat them with no apparent ill effects.

    I thought Grey Squirrels were vegetarians. Certainly wrong about that. Great photo!

    HAHA nice! I laughed out loud when I saw that. Id be photographing the grasshopper if it still had a head.
