Password protect at a high level (root) gallery
I am having a hard time describing what I am hoping to do. Basically, I have Galleries that I would not mind having available for public consumption, but then others I want to only be seen by clients, or family, etc...

Can I make a "photo tree" such that the password protected level is visible to in the gallery list, but then the sub galleries are open?

For example, I have a wedding for Tom and Mary. I make a password protected root gallery of Tom and Mary, but then the Reception, Ceremony, Dancing, etc... sub galleries no longer require a password to view them.

Is this something that can be done? Have I just overlooked this section of the instructions?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Smugmug does not offer that capability. You can password the entire account or an individual gallery. They do not offer passwords at levels in between.

So a workaround you can use, if you set all the galleries in a category to have the same password then your visitors will not have access to any of the galleries in the category without the password.

And your visitors with the password will only need to input the password once and that will give them access to all the galleries in the category so long as the password is the same.
