BOOK: Earth From Above by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
Earth From Above

Book by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, review by DavidTO

A great photography book will invite you to look at the world in a different way. A lot of times that's just by looking around at ordinary things from street level and finding the extraordinary in them. Earth From Above invites you to look at the world differently in part through the incredible photographic eye of Yann Arthus-Bertrand, but the real magic of this book is in the perspective. Arthus-Bertrand takes all of these images from low-flying altitudes. You look down on the earth and not only see things you've never seen before, but you see familiar things in new ways. Taken all over the world, this book is a beautiful insight into how wonderful and varied the planet is. The book is well-designed. Broken into sections, each one has two flaps that you can flip out so that you can read through the captions while looking at the full-page spread. Or not, if you just want to soak up the images and let the book take you away...

You can check out Arthus-Bertrand's website here.
