Emperor Dragonfly
This is the largest dragonfly in the UK. It can be found around large bodies of fresh water. Usually always on the move and is particularly powerful in flight. Its prey include butterflies and tadpoles. It is a member of the Darter family.

The reflection on the eye was due to the sun and could not be avoided without disturbing this skittish dragonfly.
