Do beavers hibernate?

Hi folks,

Well my 1st post to Digital Grin. It is a nice change from the other digital forum...review! I enjoy the people here as they all have a purpose...to take photos, with all types of cameras, and enjoy doing so.
I was wondering though...seriously...do beavers hibernate in the winter? Pretty hard to get through the ice too catch some sun in the middle of January.
I took this a few weeks ago. The beaver(s) actually have this pond dammed up in 3 spots.

Comments are always welcomed!

Cheers, Tony

Can't see your pic (unless I copy/paste the link). Do you have external links turned on for that gallery?

    Check out this tute.

EDIT: You fixed it before I even finished posting! Nice shot.

Welcome, and keep posting...and about beavers I think they winter sleep.

You may be seeing the image but you may be the only person who can. Can you confirm you have done precisely as DavidTO has asked?

I copied the URL and I got a Red X also. The problem has to be your Smugmug settings.

Great shot thumb.gif, outstanding colors. Glad you were able to get all the technical problems solved.

I do believe Beavers hibernate, but I can't say for certain.

Nah...Great folks here as I'm finding out, very, very helpful!

Glad the picture showed up, it is a beauty. Do beavers hibernate? Great question, asked Don aka Mr. Woodsman he said no. Wasn't quite sure I believed him so did a look up:D They do not hibernate, but can go into some strange wake sleep cycles because of the no sunlight.
